Fees will go up by 12 percent on Jan. 1 for an array of environmental health services provided by the Cobb County Board of Health.

That unanimous decision was made Nov. 14 by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

Among the categories for regulation and inspection are body art, food service establishments, private water systems, sewage management systems, swimming pools, tourist accommodations and trailer parks.

This increase should eliminate subsidies from local and state funding over the next five years for the Board of Health’s operating cost, according to Cobb Commission Chairman Mike Boyce and Dr. John D. Kennedy, district health director in a Nov. 14 memo to Cobb County Manager Rob Hosack.
