Cobb small businesses, with less than 100 employees, have an opportunity to receive grants of up to $20,000 to $40,000.

The money is to be used to help those businesses that have had financial hardships during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those Cobb businesses selected may use the money on personnel, rent, utilities and personal protective equipment to ensure the safety of their employees and their customers.

A total of $50 million in grants will be awarded through a competitive application process (not first-come, first-serve) to these small businesses.

The process will be administered by SelectCobb, which will select an independent review committee, and affirmed by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

From 10 to 11 a.m. June 19, John Loud, the 2020 Cobb Chamber chairman and president of LOUD Security, and Cobb Commissioner Bob Ott will answer questions and discuss the application and review process.
