No-cost time extensions were granted Oct. 23 by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners to seven Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects in Cobb County.

Completion dates for each of these GDOT construction agreements have expired.

Construction progress of each of these projects has been affected adversely for various reasons, including utility relocation impacts, inclement weather, unknown field conditions and/or design modifications.

While projects related to five of these construction agreements are substantially complete, additional time is needed to complete and submit required final close-out documentation to GDOT.

Projects related to the remaining two construction agreements are nearing completion, but additional time also is needed to complete remaining construction activities and complete/submit required final close-out documentation.

These time extensions are for:

  • Cobb Parkway/U.S. 41 intersections through Dec. 31, 2018;
  • Cedarcrest Road through March 31, 2019;
  • Cobb Parkway/U.S. 41/Ga. 3 at Cedarcrest Road/Awtrey Church Road through March 31, 2019;
  • Interstate North Parkway at Interstate North Circle through March 31, 2019;
  • Cobb Parkway/U.S. 41/Ga. 3 at Dallas Acworth Highway/Ga. 92 through June 1, 2019;
  • I-75 at Wade Green Road Diverging Diamond Interchange through June 1, 2019; and
  • Cobb Parkway/U.S. 41/Ga. 3 at Windy Hill Road through June 30, 2019.
