The Cobb Galleria Centre will soon reopen to audiences and performers after closing its doors due to the pandemic.

The facility will reopen Monday, July 13, said Walter Kiley, director of sales and marketing. Kiley said no decisions have been made about the reopening of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

The Cobb Energy and Cobb Galleria centers closed March 16 due to the pandemic. Upon reopening, employees at both facilities will be operating under a list of required safety guidelines to protect themselves as well as visitors from coronavirus.

The Cobb Galleria Centre is known for hosting conventions while the Performing Arts Center is a popular venue for shows, concerts and plays. The Performing Arts Center is also home to the Atlanta Ballet and The Atlanta Opera.

Some of the canceled or postponed events at the Arts Center include appearances by Jay Leno, Harry Connick Jr. and the 16th Annual Atlanta Blues Festival.

Some of the new guidelines that will be put in place include wearing face masks, installing hand sanitizing stations, implementing signage and floor tape to mark proper distancing, elimination of self-serve food buffets and using cashless payment options whenever possible.
