Repairs and improvements are coming to Cobb Fire Station 8 at 2380 Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw.

The $400,000 will come from the Fire Fund’s fund balance, according to recent action taken by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

Operations based out of this facility have expanded since its opening in 1996.

The restroom, bunk room and kitchen space are inadequate, according to Cobb Public Safety Agency Director Sam Heaton and Cobb Fire Chief Randy Crider in a December memo.

Also, they said the building does not accommodate the enhanced operations, expanded crew needs and increased workload.

These “necessary” projects and repairs will enable Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services to continue with “industry best practices, provide Cobb County with the most effective and efficient department possible and enhance service delivery,” Heaton and Crider said.
