A former Cobb County doctor was sentenced Friday to eight years in federal prison on child pornography charges, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Andrew Sutton, of Kennesaw, pleaded guilty.

He admitted trying to lure who he believed was a 14-year-old girl in an online chat room. He actually was communicating with an undercover investigator.

Authorities also discovered child porn images on his computer, Channel 2 said.

His attorneys argued that Sutton became addicted and should be sentenced to a treatment facility, the report said.

Sutton was an ear, nose and throat doctor with offices in Cobb and Cherokee counties.
