The Cobb County Development Authority unanimously approved a conditional bond resolution on Tuesday for an up to $17 million inducement for the International Academy of Smyrna charter school.

The development authority will issue the bonds for the school, which plans to use the money to buy the building, expand onto the second floor of its current location in the former Rich’s building on South Cobb Drive and for renovations.

The school still has to acquire its federal non-profit status and receive its state charter renewal.
