Cobb County should expect a mostly cloudy Monday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.

The metro area will likely be dry through 1 p.m., but showers and storms are expected in some areas after 5 p.m.

The late start to the rain will help Cobb’s early morning drivers while the county tries to clear a wreck along South Cobb Drive. Early Monday a car struck a power pole at Pat Mell road.

County officials hope to have the Smyrna road cleared by 8 a.m. Atlanta Road is the best alternate, Channel 2 traffic monitors said.

Monday’s high is expected to reach 86, Minton said. More rain is expected Tuesday, but drier air moves into the area on Wednesday.
