Cobb County Police Chief John Houser will be retiring by the end of the month. An interim chief will be named before Houser’s last day on Jan. 27.

Cobb’s Police chief since 2010, Houser will be leaving after serving with the Cobb County Police Department for 32 years. A Cobb resident for nearly 40 years, Houser also is the founder and race director for the Cobb County Make-A-Wish 5K.
