Herschel Tolson was appointed to the South Cobb Redevelopment Authority by a 5-0 vote Tuesday of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

Commissioner Lisa Cupid recommended Tolson as a replacement for Ford Thigpen.

Cupid said Tolson should be a good representative for the Six Flags area residents since he operates a daycare in their area.

Tolson will serve a four-year term until Dec. 31, 2019.
