Kennesaw police officers are leaning into the trope of doughnut-munching cops, but it’s for a good cause.

On Tuesday, which of course is National Doughnut Day, you can get some of the fried-dough goodness for free with the purchase of a drink at the 4100 Jiles Road location of Dunkin' Donuts from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Cops will be there with a suggestion of what to do with that money you just saved: donate it to Special Olympics Georgia, according to a Facebook post by the department.

Kennesaw cops say they’ll make sure your donation goes to help fund the programs for the athletes.

Law enforcement have long been involved with the Special Olympics. Even NBA great and Clayton County's tallest deputy Shaquille O'Neal got in on the action when he showed up at a Special Olympics "polar plunge" fundraising event at Lake Acworth in February attended by cops from throughout the state.

If that wasn't enough of a connection, Shaq also recently bought a historic Krispy Kreme in Atlanta.
