Cobb County police confirmed Wednesday night that the skeletal remains found on Kennesaw Mountain earlier this week are those of a 25-year-old hiker.

Avid hiker David Blake went missing on the mountain on March 9, said Cobb police spokeswoman Officer Sarah O'Hara. The remains of the Harrison High graduate were found on Stilesboro Road "a good distance" from a park trail.

The Marietta man’s keys were found in the cup holder of his car parked in an overflow lot at the national park.

A hiker came upon the remains Monday night, police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
