Due to Cobb County’s scheduled bridge repairs/rehabilitation on two of the Silver Comet Trail bridges, parts of the trail will be closed to all trail traffic between Jan. 6 and Feb. 28.

The Silver Comet Trail bridge over Nickajack Creek - near the Concord Road trail head and trail mile marker 2.5 - will be closed for up to seven days during these dates, according to a Powder Springs statement.

The Silver Comet Trail bridge over Noses Creek - near the Carter Road parking lot and trail mile marker 8.4 - will be closed for up to 30 days during these dates.

The Wildhorse Trail will remain open with the potential for temporary closures and flagging under the Silver Comet Trail bridge.

Parts of the Carter Road parking lot will be closed for construction equipment/supplies.

There will be no access through the construction sites during the closures, and no detours will be available.

More specific closure information will be available in November.
