If you find yourself a week after Thanksgiving still wanting to walk off that third serving of dressing, Powder Springs has just the thing, and it’ll also get you in the yuletide spirit.

The city is holding a Christmas-themed parade on Nov. 30 and the “Reindeer 5k Fun Run” on the next day, according to a Powder Springs news release.

The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. down Marietta Street, through downtown and to city hall. After that, they'll light the tree in the town square.

The city assured that they’d have free cookies and cocoa. There will also be the chance to take pictures with Santa.

As for the fun run, it is an out-and-back course starting at 9 a.m. from the Wildhorse Trail Head near Wildhorse Creek Park on Macedonia Road. Registration is an hour earlier.

Runners are encouraged to wear their “tackiest Christmas sweaters.”

Adult registration is $20 online. Folks who register by Nov. 19 will get a T-shirt.
