The Cobb County Board of Commissioners decided Dec. 12 to buy the site at 850 Hurt Road for Fire Station 7.

The cost will be $526,500, including an earnest money check of $10,000, to Joye L. Evans and James C. Landers.

However, within 120 days after the contract is signed, county officials may terminate the contract if they determine the property is not suitable for the fire station.

Funding will be provided by the 2016 local penny sales tax, also known as the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax .
