Cobb County police are investigating an armed robbery Thursday afternoon at a bank near Kennesaw.

The robbery happened about noon at the Bank of America in the 4300 block of Bells Ferry Road, Cobb police spokesman Joseph Hernandez said.

He said the robber walked up to a teller station and demanded money. After being given an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled on foot, and was last seen running into a wooded area behind the bank and a nearby QuikTrip gas station.

Hernandez described the man as white, 20 to 24 years old, 6 feet tall with a slim build and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a light-colored blazer, white sweater, a light-colored cowboy hat, gloves and sunglasses.

Hernandez asked that anyone with information on the incident call investigators at 770-499-3945.
