For the first time as a safety precaution due to the coronavirus, Cobb County assessment notices may be appealed by email.

These appeals must be filed within 45 days since the May 21 mailing of the notices, which would be by July 5.

Appeals to the Cobb County Board of Tax Assessors will be accepted at AssessorAppeals@CobbCounty.org, according to a county statement.

All sales information can be obtained at CobbAssessor.org.

All owners of taxable real property will receive an assessment notice.

The notice will display the fair market value and the assessed value that will be used on the 2020 tax bill.

The fair market value will reflect the value of the property as of Jan. 1, 2020.

To limit person-to-person contact, the Tax Assessors office is operating with very limited staff from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Appointments are requested by phone.
