The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 last week to stop issuing citations to residents for parking more than three vehicles in the driveways of their single-family houses.

This moratorium will last until March 1 or until a code amendment is approved — whichever comes first.

Meanwhile, the staff of the Cobb County Community Development Agency will prepare code amendments to be included in the January 2016 code amendment package with public hearings in January and February.

Dana Johnson, the agency’s director, wrote in an Oct. 27 memo to County Manager David Hankerson, “Many residents have expressed concerns about the intrusiveness of these types of restrictions.”
