The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted recently to spend $488,794 for repairs to the Richard D. Sailors Parkway bridge in the Powder Springs area.

Tidwell Construction Co., the low bidder, was awarded the contract.

The approach slab on the west end of the bridge, which crosses the Silver Comet Trail, will be replaced.

Also, curb and gutter, sidewalk and the concrete median will be replaced.

The project should take 45 days to complete.
