A proposal for purpose-built student housing was opposed by two Cobb County commissioners on Feb. 18, but the case was approved by three votes.

In favor were Commission Chairman Mike Boyce and Commissioners JoAnn Birrell and Lisa Cupid.

Opposed were Commissioners Bob Ott and Keli Gambrill - just as they did on Feb. 11 when the commissioners voted 3-2 to allow purpose-built student housing in their county code.

The housing will be constructed by Landmark Properties Inc. at 3550 George Busbee Parkway at the southeast corner of George Busbee Parkway and Townpark Drive near Kennesaw State University.

No one from the public voiced opposition on Feb. 18.
