North Georgia Live Steamers offers miniature train rides 1-4:30 p.m. today, Aug. 27 and Oct. 15. $2. Lantern Parade in Sandy Springs
Sandy Springs “Take It to the River” Lantern Parade. 9 p.m.-midnight today. Free. Begin at North Springs United Methodist Church, 7770 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs and end at Morgan Falls Overlook Park, 200 Morgan Falls Road, Sandy Springs. Park at the church by 8:30 p.m. due to rolling road closure. At about 9:30 p.m., High Country Outfitter paddlers will escort Alice, the 25-foot albino alligator lantern, and the illuminated turtles and lilies to the river for a floating parade with performers and live music.
