Clerk shot at gas station near Stone Mountain

DeKalb County police are investigating after a store clerk was shot at a gas station near Stone Mountain.

The shooting happened around 12:15 p.m. Monday at a Texaco station on Memorial Drive at Rays Road, according to DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish.

Investigators said the shooter stole the clerk’s bank deposit, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Parish told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that one person was shot and transported to a hospital. A witness told Channel 2 that the victim had a leg injury.
