Clayton to temporarily close Griswell Senior Center for maintenance

Clayton will temporarily close the J. Charley Griswell Senior Center next week for maintenance, the county says.

Maintenance will begin Sept. 30 and end Oct. 4, during which time the facility will be closed. Seniors are encouraged to participate in activities at the Frank Bailey Senior Center, 6213 Riverdale Road in Riverdale.

Griswell employees will be dispersed to other facilities during the closure, including Kinship Care and the Bailey Center.

The closure will not affect the senior nutrition program, with the Griswell staff distributing meal tickets to participating seniors.
