Clayton County Schools said Thursday it was monitoring the weather as the metro area continued under a tornado watch until 1 p.m.

The south metro Atlanta district said it would provide updates relative to afterschool activities, field trips and  potential bus delays throughout the day on its Channel 24 broadcast station, via email on online at its website.

“We encourage everyone to be safe and stay connected for updated information regarding any potential weather and the status of our schools and related events,” the district said in a statement.
