Clayton residents will get an update on the county schools system’s health on Tuesday.

Superintendent Morcease Beasley will present the  annual “State of the Schools” meeting at 6 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, 2530 Mount Zion Parkway in Jonesboro.

The address will focus on the district’s accomplishments and plans for the future.  It will be Beasley’s third address to the county, which saw its College and Career Ready Performance Index scores drop in 2019 but its four-year cohort graduation rates rise. Graduation rates for the class of 2019 increased one point over the year before, going from 71.7 percent to 72.7 percent.
