Clayton police chief honored by ministers group

Clayton County Police Chief Greg Porter was recently honored by the Association of Christian Ministers of Clayton County.

The ministers’ group gave him the Political Action Civil Service Leadership Award. The award recognizes a county leader who has worked to improve and strengthen the county, and exemplifies the qualities of fair and effective leadership. The award was given during the ministers group’s annual fundraising banquet Friday.

Banquet proceeds go to projects like the ministers group’s scholarship fund, Back-to-School Outreach and Thanksgiving Outreach to provide food, clothing, and medical screenings.
