He's greater and he's grander now that one Jonesboro man has won $327,755 in the Georgia lottery.

Don Bruce  -- dad to five, granddad to seven and great-granddad to nine -- matched all five winning numbers in the Aug. 20 Fantasy 5 drawing.

Bruce, 71, bought his winning Quik Pik ticket at the Lovejoy Food Mart, 11170 Tara Blvd. in Hampton. Winning numbers from the Aug. 20 drawing were: 1-8-15-16-31.

Bruce called the Georgia Lottery’s Player Information hot line and discovered his prize.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I shouted, ‘I got it. I got it!’ ”

Bruce said he and wife Shirley plan to donate a portion to his children and expand their summer home. “We’re really happy and thrilled,” Bruce said. “Our family met for Sunday dinner, and we toasted to our win.”
