Clayton County Public School District officials are touting their teachers, all of whom now have a highly qualified designation.

To be designated as highly qualified, a teacher must be fully certified by the state, hold at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and demonstrate competence in the subject areas they teach.

Having a 100 percent highly qualified teaching staff has been a goal in Clayton County for the past decade, and the district began recruiting highly qualified teachers five years ago.
