Clayton County police are investigating vehicle incidents that resulted in two deaths, one involving a pedestrian.

In a two-vehicle crash, a man was killed and three people were injured Monday night.

Just before 6 p.m., Clayton officers responded to the accident scene south of Anvil Block Road on Grant Road in Ellenwood, spokeswoman Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said. They found Avery Hoosang, 20, of Jonesboro, pinned inside a Dodge Avenger, Marbury said. Hoosang died at the scene.

Three people in a Chevrolet Suburban were taken to a local hospital, one of them in serious condition, Marbury said.

No other details were available. The investigation is ongoing.

In the pedestrian case, the body of Glenn Martin, 66, of Jonesboro, was found about 12:48 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Flint Trail and Flint Place.

The driver of a Chevrolet Malibu told police that after he had what he thought to be mechanical failure of his car, he pulled over to the side of the road, Marbury said. While checking the car, the man found Martin under the driver’s side and called 911.

Martin may have been lying in the road when he was struck by the car, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
