Clayton County will hold a virtual town on Tuesday to talk about  police reform and citizen outreach.

Jeff Turner, chairman of the Clayton County Commission and a former Clayton County Chief of Police, will moderate a discussion on reforming law enforcement and community engagement at 6 p.m. on the government body’s website.

It’s a topic that has taken center stage in the past few months after weeks of protests over the deaths of Black Americans at the hands of police, including George Floyd in Minneapolis and Breonna Taylor in Louisville, have initiated a discussion on systemic racism and law enforcement.

Police chiefs from several Clayton County cities, including Forest Park and Morrow, will join Turner in the discussion. Law enforcement leaders for MARTA and Clayton County Schools also plan to participate.
