The Clayton County Board of Commissioners will hold a public meeting for the purpose of adopting a budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, during the regularly scheduled business meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5. The meeting will be held in the Commissioner’s Board Room, 112 Smith Street, Jonesboro.

Clayton County Chief Financial Officer Ramona Bivins presented the county’s proposed fiscal year 2019 budget last month to the Board of Commissioners. The Fiscal Year 2019 general fund budget totals $202.6 million, a decrease of $0.7 million, or 0.4 percent, from the FY 2018 amended budget. The decrease results primarily from expenditure decreases for anticipated transfer to reserves that are not required in FY 2019 of $2.5 million.
