Stone Mountain Mayor Patricia Wheeler announced recently that City Hall will be closed to in-person, public access starting Tuesday, March 17 , 2020 for at least two weeks - through March 30 - as a coronavirus protection.

The closure is with the exception of servicing permits and applications on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon by appointment only, according to a press release.

Closures:

• City Hall — In-person, public access through March 30

• March 17 — Work Session of Mayor and Council

• March 18 — Historic Preservation Commission Meeting

• March 23 — Downtown Development Authority Board Meeting

• Municipal Court — Through April 13

• Welcome Center Operations until further notice

The essential service functions, including Public Safety, Public Works, and Code Compliance, will not be interrupted. Select city staff, equipped with laptops and cell phones, will work from home through remote access locations. The city’s main landline number, 770-498-8984, will be answered and calls will be routed as necessary. Select staff members’ office phones will be routed to their cell phones and callers may leave voice mail messages. Staff members will return calls in the same manner as if city hall were open for access.
