City releases annexation numbers

Avondale Estates posted its “wish list” annexation map with financial and residential data at www.avondaleestates.org.

The map includes neighborhoods Forrest Hills, Decatur Terrace and Avondale Station, and commercial districts Rio Circle and the DeKalb Farmers Market.

The map adds an estimated 289.2 acres and 2269 people to the city’s current population of 2,960. Estimated revenues are $1,047,322.41 and estimated expenditures $712, 480.86. The city estimates it would need to hire nine more employees including five police officers.
