City to honor public works

May 12, 2011

To recognize the work that city workers did to clear roads during the winter snow storm and to celebrate the completion of $150 million capital improvement bond, Atlanta will celebrate National Public Works Week, starting on Monday with an 11:30 a.m. launch in the Atlanta City Hall Atrium, 55 Trinity Avenue.

On May 20, the Department of Public Works will celebrate in the community by providing educational handouts and a tour of new garbage trucks at Gideons, Perkerson, Fickett and Hope Hill elementary schools. Also on May 20, there will be a closing ceremony for the Quality of Life Bond Program at 3 p.m. in the Atrium.
