Atlanta officials are looking for artists to create a gateway monument that will be installed across from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
“Professional architects, designers, and sculptors with portfolios that demonstrate monumental scale public art sculptures” are eligible, according to a request for proposals.
The “contemporary, innovative, and transformative” monument will be erected near the entry of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Northside Drive and will be “highly visible” from the stadium, the RFP says. A large scale bronze statue in the likeness of Martin Luther King Jr. will also go on the site.
