The Henry County Water Authority is launching its Charitable Assistance Program this month, providing a way for customers to make contributions that will assist fellow citizens with their water utility payments. Anyone is allowed to make contributions to the CAP fund, but HCWA customers can do so easily by filling out and returning the form enclosed in their monthly bills.

Doing so will authorize the HCWA to “round up” the bill and transfer the excess funds to the program fund on that customer’s behalf. Customers can authorize automatic rounding up each month until they stipulate otherwise. The money collected in the CAP fund will be dispersed under the direction of Samaritans Together, a local ministry whose work in the community is consistent with the services the Authority was looking for in a third-party administrator of the program’s dollars.
