Circle K may be coming to Austell

A new Circle K, with a quick-serve food establishment, may be coming to Austell.

The Smyrna Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval 7-0 recently of the request from Montecito Developments to annex into the city from Cobb County and rezone property at Austell Road and Leila Street.

Mayor Joe Jerkins and the City Council will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the City Hall, 2716 Broad St., Austell before making a decision.

Developer Tom Jones told the Planning and Zoning Commission there would be a $2.5 million to $3 million investment.

If approved, a summer groundbreaking is expected, he added.
