Firefighters evacuated a DeKalb County church and its preschool after a construction crew hit a nearby gas main Tuesday morning.

The gas main break happened around 11:30 a.m. at Oak Grove and Fair Oaks roads, prompting firefighters to evacuate Oak Grove United Methodist Church and its preschool.

No one was hurt.

DeKalb Fire Capt. Eric Jackson said it is believed to be a large gas main. Atlanta Gas Light was on the way, Jackson said.
