A Chinese restaurant in Smyrna has failed its recent health check.

Hong Kong City, at 2142 South Cobb Drive in the Cobb Center Shopping Center, scored a 57 on Thursday, according to the report.

Any score below a 70 is considered failing.

The inspector noted that employees had several issues, mostly centered around the sink. There were problems with folks not properly washing their hands and allowing shrimp to thaw in the sink, which isn’t allowed.

There was also a worker seen using their bare hands to prepare cooked rice, the report said.

A manager could not be reached Friday.

Hong Kong City scored an 80 in February and a 91 a year earlier.

Follow-up inspections are usually done within 10 days of the original evaluation.
