A child was taken to Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee after a drowning scare this afternoon in Royal Palm Beach, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

Rescuers received a call just before 3:45 p.m. about a possible drowning in the 100 block of Santander Court, said Capt. Albert Borroto, Fire Rescue spokesman.

The child was out of the home’s pool when crews arrived and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
