A boy was rushed to the hospital after he was shot inside his home early Tuesday morning.

DeKalb police say they were called out to the home on Rollingwood Drive  just after 1 a.m.

Authorities say the boy was hit in the hand. His injuries were non-life threatening but the circumstances surrounding how he was shot are still unclear.

Channel 2 Action News was there as the boy was put into the ambulance to be taken away to a local hospital.

Officers questioned an adult inside the house. So far police have not released any details on what happened or if the boy got a hold of a gun and shot himself.

There were at least three other small kids inside the house. They were not injured but officers took them out of the home and put them in a patrol car and drove away.

So far, police have not released any details and there is no word if police plan to file charges in the incident.
