The chief judge of the federal appeals court in Atlanta said Thursday he will ask his fellow judges at their next meeting to have the court begin publishing its argument calendars online.

"I know of no reason why we couldn't do that," Chief Judge Joel Dubina said. ""I certainly believe in transparency and believe the public has a right to know what we do." The court is the only federal appeals court in the nation that does not publish its calendars online. Law professors say this makes it difficult for the public to know what cases are before the court.
