The Cherokee Soccer Association will upgrade and maintain the field space and install field lighting at Sixes Elementary School as part of a recently approved partnership agreement with the Cherokee County School Board.

The association also will provide community-based educational workshops, clinics and presentations to teachers, parents and students throughout the academic year; and provide scholarships for low-income and disadvantaged families; and make field improvements under a new facility use partnership at Arnold Mill Elementary School.

The school district, in turn will allow the association continued use of the soccer fields at Sixes, provide a new facility use partnership for outdoor recreational soccer at Arnold Mill effective Jan. 1, and promote soccer association programs as permitted by school board policy.

The agreement runs through Dec. 14, 2018, with automatic renewals for additional terms not to exceed five years. Information: http://bit.ly/2lmBl9r
