The Cherokee County Board of Education has renewed a partnership agreement with the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Inc. that lets the organization meet in schools with the rental fees waived, aside from supervisory, utility and custodial fees.
The school district also will assist in access to classrooms for volunteers to announce recruiting events; provide opportunities for recruitment, including displays in the elementary and middle schools and Girl Scout information in newsletters, and have a liaison work with the group to organize events.
The Girl Scouts, in turn, will form troops to meet as part of the after-school program in select schools; set up displays, make announcements and conduct other activities approved by each school’s administration for Girl Scout Week; and have an interview with a school’s principal or designee before and after the use of a facility.
