Price Counseling LLC will continue to assist Cherokee County DUI and Drug Court clients under a professional services agreement recently approved by the county Board of Commissioners. The estimated value of the contract is about $250,000 a year.

Price, of Canton, has provided evidenced-base treatment services to the DUI/Drug Court program since its inception in 2005, and also is the treatment provider for the Misdemeanor Drug Court Program, according to the agenda packet for the recent commissioners meeting.

The counselor sees 90 participants at a time, on average, with individualized treatment plans including individual and group counseling sessions, therapy and other services. Price also offer administrative support services.

“Price Counseling has done outstanding work for the courts, with a recidivism rate of about 8 percent; nationally, it’s about 15 percent,” County Manager Jerry Cooper told commissioners.
