Cherokee County awarded a $339,470 contract for intersection improvements at Alabama Road (Ga. 92) and Ragsdale Road/Claremore Drive in Woodstock.

The Board of Commissioners awarded the work to Bartow Paving Co. Inc., the lowest of nine bidders, to expand the intersection to include dual left-turn lanes, a dedicated through lane and a dedicated right-turn lane on the southbound approach of Ragsdale to Ga. 92. The work also calls for a dedicated left-turn lane on Claremore Drive, as well as adjustments to the traffic signal.

According to the contract, Bartow Paving is to begin work within seven calendar days of the notice to proceed, and to not do work or move equipment or materials that visibly interferes with traffic between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday unless allowed by the county engineer.
