Georgia High School Graduation Test scores in Cherokee County are in and show students exceeded state averages.

Ninety-six percent of those taking the math test passed, compared to 84  percent statewide; 97 percent passed language arts, compared to 91 percent statewide; and 95 percent passed the social studies test, which is 16 points above the state average of 78 percent. Ninety-eight percent passed the science test, above the state's 93 percent.

The county scores match or are within a point or two of the scores posted last year.
