The Cherokee County Animal Shelter in Canton will offer a free microchipping clinic for dogs Tuesday-Friday, Sept. 17-20.

The event will take place at the shelter’s adoption building at 1015 Unilever Road.

The procedure is by appointment only, the shelter said. Dog owners must show proof of county residency, and pets must be on a leash or a secure carrier. The service is not available to previous no shows, breeders, rescue groups or pet businesses. To book an appointment: https://bit.ly/2USdyyX

Pre-registration paperwork is required before the appointment date. A registration form link will be emailed to participants after the appointment is booked.
