For the seventh consecutive year, the Cherokee County School District has exceeded statewide College and Career Ready Performance Index accountability scores of the Georgia Department of Education, district officials announced.

Cherokee County schools overall posted a score of 83.4, compared with a state average of 75.9; elementary schools, 86 vs. 77.1; middle schools, 80.4 vs. 72.1; and high schools, 82.4 vs. 77. Scores from all three levels of Cherokee County schools also improved from last year's results. To view all 2019 scores: https://bit.ly/2qLnvEa

“We’re proud of the hard work by all of our students and teachers every day in the classroom,” said district Superintendent Brian V. Hightower. “Our students are not data points, but limited standardized testing results do help us evaluate our instructional best practices to continuously improve.”

Hightower said the district and instructional leaders will take "a deep dive" into the data to determine how struggling students can be better supported. Information: https://bit.ly/2pWrdtX
