At least three of the four candidates in the high-profile race for Cherokee County sheriff will attend a Tuesday night candidate forum.
The Cherokee County Farm Bureau released a list of confirmed candidates for the event showing that Chip (James) McCarthy, Frank Reynolds and David Waters plan to attend . Jeff Donley is also in the race. All four Republicans with extensive law-enforcement backgrounds are seeking to replace longtime sheriff Roger Garrison, who is retiring.
Several well-known incumbents will also attend, including U.S. Rep Barry Loudermilk, R-Cassville, and a number of other state legislative, judicial and Cherokee County office seekers. The forum kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cagle Family Farm, 362 Stringer Road. It’s co-sponsored by the farm bureau and chamber.
